  • Congratulations Oma! You are in for the best time of your life. I am so happy for you. I have so much to tell you. I will have to write you later. I just wanted to respond and say congrats.
    Bless you my friend.

My dad had a good Dr. at University of Md, ALS Speciality Hospital, Dr. Russell, on Green Street by Hopkins. They did his PEG, the people there were wonderful. He had equipment that he needed before he even needed it. When he had problems with something most the time they came out the same day, They realize the the patient is first no matter what. If you need names or numbers let me know. They also had a Sheek donate Billions for the new ALS Hospital, just opened, had "grand Opening" Last night. What a beautiful building and for such a wonderful purpose. They are sopose to have the best of everything for people with ALS. I hope some of his generous billions went for research also.
I not that computer savy, but "Sixthkid" was able to find it on the web. I see you are from MD too(and I see you are a Steelers fan but I am still your friend anyway, LOL) It was in "The Baltimore Sunpaper" May 19, 2008. "ALS and Veterans" Front page. written by John Mitchell. If you can't find it, PM me your adddress and I will send you a copy.
Sorry, the Bay Bridge every weekend. I sure do miss the silver queen corn and steamed crabs!

Its nice to finally meet some Marylanders!

    Hey,
I just wanted to introduce myself to you. Because of some family problems (abuse and neglect) , I was forced to disappear and reinvent myself. I was/am momofsixkids60/Kimberly. I am originally from Anne Arundel County. I moved to SC almost 22 years ago. My parents own a farm in Snow Hill, so every weekend we went across that! Ba
Hi Punkin. I saw you posted today and wonder how you're doing. So, how the heck are you G? Long time since I heard from you. It's misty out today. Nice spring weather. What's been going on in your neighborhood?
    Hugs to you!

    Hey,

Just checking to see how the procedure went. Drop me a note when you can. I hope its all good news :) If its not, still know that you guys were doing what your hubby wants, and that matters a lot. xo
I wish I did have some sort of wisdom. Know that his readings at clinic might have been a false low, if he didn't have a good grip with his on the breathing measuring tube (whatever that thing is called) Know this is what he wants, and know that the anesthesia will not be deep, he won't be under it long, and, by him having the PEG he will have a better quality to his life, and a much easier time keeping his weight up. You MAKE SURE they understand its his diaphragm that is weak (not his lungs), and for them to keep him sitting up as much as possible for the procedure. xo
Congratulations on the completed project! I know things will be so much easier for you both now. I most certainly will keep you both in my thoughts for next week. Don't worry though, it will be a snap. He probably won't even be under the anesthesia for more than 15 minutes, probably less than that. xo
I feel for you with the remodeling. Never pleasant! But, the end result should overshadow in inconvenience. xo
Actually, yes we are! Brad worked from home and I read all day. It's still lightly snowing and will all night. It'll be done by tomorrow morning. We love it! How are you doing?
Thank you dear! (and yes GO STEELERS!)

What did you guys decide to to as far as choosing the PEG doctor? Is your hubby going with the doctor you had the consult with?
