Jen, we have been talking about a tablet or Ipad for Jim for the time when his voice goes and not for sure which way to go. He still has his voice but thinking ahead. Have you thoughts about what works the best.

Hi Jen, just wanted to let you know that I turned in my notice at work. I gave my two weeks notice and it was the right decision. I can now focus on Jim and be there for him 100%

We're all still thinking of you and hoping things are getting better. Although all the help you 'got' from VA is great, I know that means more calls, interviewing, appointments, and hold times for you. Hang in there. One day at a time. You're doing a great job!

Hi Jen,
Hope you and Roger are doing okay. I'm currently staying at my dad's due to a issue on the homefront. Probally, will return home this week because things are getting resolved. I'm feeling a little less stressed actually by spending time with my dad. Dad has been getting wonderful support and care through the VA clinic in our town. He is going to start some more occupational therapy this week. His caretaker is working out well and so is his back-up guy. How is your help doing? I am just popping on here off/on while I clear my head for awhile. The loss of many members have gotten me down. I also don't allow myself to get on the DIHALS site anymore since the posts get me rattled. Take care you are in my thoughts and prayers. Kim

One more month at work. I will turn my notice in mid February. He does okay in the house with lots of rest breaks. He does not venture too far from home. We are at the beginning of this next change. Thanks for your words of encouragement and I will keep you posted.

Jen, I have a question about Jim. He now wears UFOs on both legs and for the last two weeks his back is really getting weaker. So weak that it is taking all of his energy to walk or limits his walking. He thinks there is something that they can do for him at his next clinic visit. Is the next step a wheel chair? Has Roger gone through this? I'm really lost on this change and a little scared at this point.

How are things going for you? The kids all went back to school today after a long Christmas break. My dad had the flu and luckily went to the Dr. fast enough and they gave him a strong antibiotic. He's almost completely better now. The VA had a really nice wheelchair ramp for him. He is going to be measured pretty soon for a electric wheelchair. He is getting alot weaker in the arms now. Have you managed to find any home help for you yet? Take care, Kim

Jim is going through a change with his back getting weaker and I have moved my retirement up to February. I'm at work but wanted to take the time to say Hi and that I was thinking of you.
