  • Thank you for thinking of us. Our forum family and friends are the best. Eric is having a good afternoon today. He is not sleeping as much and able to communicate his needs. I am cherishing these good days. Thanks again for thinking of us. Take care. Pam
My neuro said the same thing and I found it very odd. Lymes is prevalent in this area but he just kind of dismissed it at first, did the EMG, but then was hell bent on getting the second Lymes test. He's a weird one, hard to read... LOL I've read a lot this morning and today about how many doctors will dismiss Lymes as a problem because they don't really understand it. Regardless of what this one says and how the test comes back I'm still getting a second opinion and pursuing the Lymes.
Hello! I've seen your posts on the forum. Just wanted to mention something that works for me. You've been mentioning the cramping in your legs and other places. Quinine helps this cramping. You can get it in pill for, by prescription, in Canada. However, I drink a glass or two of tonic water (which contains quinine) every night. Yes, it's a rather bitter drink but anything is worth not being awoken with cramps! I'm starting to have some 'breakthrough' cramping so I may have to up my dose or perhaps I'm progressing past the benefits of it.
HEY, just got home. been a really long day. Had to see ear dr. also since I am having problems hearing in my right ear. he said i had fluid in that ear. ordered meds . said if doesnt clear up will need to put tube in next month. i saw dr. chris lee. als specialist. my sis went with me, ready to challenge his diagnoses. He explained why he believes that I have als but told her he would be happy to be wrong but based on the info from that emg test and other exams that he can only conclude that i am in the early stages of als. Set me an appt. for als clinic in Dec. I dont know how to do private email..dont think i have that option. will take a chance ..my email is [email protected] had to stay in nashville till today because they had to do another test to check my diaphram...best to you ...drop me a note...sherry
My new room is working out fine, I have more help and the nurses and auds are very kind..... and the view is gorgeous of the cascade mountains and the water front....I am happily settled. But what a day moving was. When we had moved everything up the head nurse said I couldn't stay because DSHS wouldn't pay for it until all the paper work was finished!!! but Jacqueline called my community and asked if they would pay for it, and they said yes....just until the paper work comes through. So my heart dropped to the ground and then bounced back up. Its really is a miracle that they agreed to pay! Any way I am settled. Thank you for your prayers!
The hot weather is coming our way...suppose to be 93 today! Thank God I have an air conditioner!!!
    love you much

    Hello:
I am concerned I may have ALS and your post in Kenwood's forum struck me since this is how I feel on a daily basis. I am dealing with a shabby Neuro Doc who doesn't think it is ALS. I wasnt to believe this and move on but am not sure since I feel like crap. I went out to lunch today and fell asleep in the parking lot with the car running. I have flacs in my calf with stiffness etc. Thanks for your help.
    Hello,
My mom received your card on Monday! and I was with her! She was so happy to receive it! She had her feeding tube put in Monday morning. She tried it yesterday and it made her feel very nautious so they backed off of it last night. I have not spoke to her yet today, I will when I get home from work so see how she's doing. I had a great day with her on Monday. One day at a time... :O) Thank you so much for being kind and thoughtful.

Yes, exactly. I am having cramps in my legs and twitches almost all over. The cramps are not as bad as they used to be. Dropfoot on my left foot, legs weak, expecially the left one but still strong enough to get around. The other problem is the fat.igue. I am totally worn out by the end of the day and my left foot really swells. Tell me what the dr says. I will tell u what they say to me. No clinic yet...sherry
    Hello,
I'm an occasional visitor to the site nowdays; I was really grbbed by your signature line today on something you had posted somewhere. A beautifully confident statement.
    Regards, Roderick.
anxious is more like it. It seems forever to get here. I have already been diagnosed. Now I am curious as to what is next. My sis is on her way here from Texas to go with me. She is an RN and she wants to make sure we ask the right questions.. She is still trying to believe that a mistake has been made.....i wish....Best to you. sherry
    More from Kay Cherry:

He, Dr. David Perlmutter (from Florida) , wrote a book called "BrainRecovery.com". It has a chapter on ALS. You can order the book on Amazon for not much money. We are following most of his protocol. One of the big things that has seemed to help Kim feel better is the glutathione. Capsules of glutathione don't absorb very well. There are foods that make glutathione for us, spinach, spuds, asparagus, avocado, squash, cauliflower, broccoli, walnuts, garlic, tomatoes, and the spice Curry. Dr. Perlmutter's book tells you where to get the liquid glutathione. We also went to a 10 day clinic in the Nashville area. There Kim did ozone treatments and hyperbaric treatments. These in a nutshell are the therapies that have helped Kim the most. He is doing so many things now that he could not do six months ago, that it really is miraculous. All of Kim’s ALS symptoms are not gone, but are improving weekly. Kay Cherry
Reply from Kim Cherry's wife, Kay.

We started with eliminating toxicity in the body. Kim's shampoo - Pert + - the first ingredient is toxic. It's now gone and we found something safer. We went to a chiropractor that specialized in neurology. He said Kim had mercury poisoning, fungus and gluten sensitivity. We eliminated gluten in all gluten grains and corn. Fungus is fed by sugars and of course, yeast breads. Mercury poisoning has to be addressed by removing dental fillings that contain mercury or using chorella. I take it for lead poisoning, 10 tablets, 3 times a day. It takes about a year, but the urine test I had in May showed my mercury poisoning coming down as well as the lead poisoning. The doctor gave Kim 6 supplements and he started to getting slowly better. Contact is [email protected]. I'll try to send another post with more information. Kay Cherry

    Hi,
It has been such a busy week. I've been back and forth with mom's insurance. She has poor insurance. It's Medicaid with a deductible. It has to be activated in order for her to go elsewhere for a second opinion (which is now University of Michigan, no longer Milwaukee) and it's only activated when she meets her spenddown which is high. She is seeing a nutritionist today and has the feedign tube scheduled for Monday. I thinka fter those appointments, she should meet that deductible which will re-activate her medicaid, then we can get the appt. scheduled. I am frustrated. I still am hoping maybe it's a wrong diagnosis. I don't know if that's wrong of me to think that. I was looking in her doctors notes from the appointment prior to the emg test, and he states in there that we have a family history of Motor Neuron Disease - No we don't! I don't know of anyone with this in the family. I do not know what he states that. - thank you for being there. Tina
    Elaine. LMAO about the wine.
I know exactly what you're talking about.
Reflexes and the ability to balance one's cup while moving around is tough.
I keep finding lighter cups to drink from to make the weight lighter to hold.
(don't you dare mention light beer, lol. it's still the same weight.)
I'm pretty happy with my red solo cups! and always carry a napkin to protect my friends.
Hope to have some new pics when I return from "embracing nature".
    Take care,
    Cheers,
    Casey
