  • My husband is in the process of trying to get a definite diagnosis. Doctors have ruled out ALS and are thinking PLS or possibly Stiff Person Syndrome. Does anyone have this diagnosis?
The unusual thing about him is that he hasn't lost any strength in his legs or arms which seems to be puzzling to the doctors. His symptoms started around 6 years ago with his speech getting slower and sometimes slurred. Around two years ago he started limping on his right leg, then dragging his foot when walking, falling, tripping, etc. Both legs are now involved and he mainly complains of extreme stiffness. He coughs a lot and gets choked easily when drinking water. He has worked in an aluminum plant for over 30 years and has been under an extreme amount of stress. I'm looking for advice and wondering if anyone has had blood tests for aluminum toxicity?
