Hi. Don't worry. The moderators and people in the forum were a little harsh to me to for worrying too much but I don't think you were insensitive. I read a lot of these posts from people and I think you have the same personality as I. We have a need to know for sure but that doesn't make the...

    Complex Case is ALS?

Thanks Lenore. I apologize to you all if I offended anyone or was insulting.

    Complex Case is ALS?

Hi Lenore - Thanks for the reply and hope you are enjoying the beautiful fall weather. Nice to meet another Minnesotan (although I'm originally from across the state line to the east so still bleed green and gold). Yeah, the way this whole thing started out is why I bounced around. Plus I...

    Complex Case is ALS?

Hi all again, I had another quick EMG that redid some of the legs and then added in only the tongue. Nothing was abnormal at this point. Are there other parts of the face and throat they can do for bulbar EMG? I have the upcoming appointment with Mayo and I want to make sure I have all my...

    Complex Case is ALS?

Lixen, sorry for upsetting you. Here are the people that said they did. https://www.alsforums.com/forum/general-discussion-about-als-mnd/29442-throat-spasm-vs-choking.html Somehow two normal emgs on my legs early on in twitching doesn't seem to have anything to do with my throat though. I'm...

    Complex Case is ALS?

I do have to revisit something said in several replies on various threads. Particularly regarding pain and cramping. It seems that pain and cramping are symptoms that when brought up on here are told to not be ALS related. However, I've read on multiple threads as well on here that throat...

I thank you all very much for your replies. I'll pursue answers at Mayo and hope for the best. Again, I appreciate your input very much.

    Complex Case is ALS?

I should also say that my left tibial fwave latency increased from the first EMG to the second EMG. Which I've read is potentially an early indicator. No other fwaves increased, only the one for the nerve where the twitching is now full strength. Any thoughts?

    Complex Case is ALS?

Thanks lixen. Sorry I should clarify, I didn't have twitching until a week before the second EMG. The first EMG was done as a rule out precaution back in June when thought MS or some other PN autoimmune related.

    Complex Case is ALS?

Thanks Wendy. Has anyone here been caught my the hyperexcitability phase of twitching before EMG showed abnormal? Meaning two months of twitching or so before anything shows on EMG? So this still confuses me. Some say twitching before EMG some say after muscle weakness and abnormal EMG. Is...

Thanks Wendy. When you say way before like how long? Weeks, months etc?

    Complex Case is ALS?

I should add that my left leg has been cumbersome and heavy throughout this whole ordeal. Toes feel like they are just floppy and stuck in my shoes actually. I'm able to stand on my toes. Curious if others have opinions too? Also, is the neurologist community just not brave enough to say...

    Complex Case is ALS?

Thanks Laurie. Your number one reason for voting not ALS? I'm curious. For further clarification, the EMG would pick up ALS if the twitching I was experiencing was in it's infancy and caused by ALS? I've never had twitching like this before from anything ever. Especially that focal. My...

    Complex Case is ALS?

I should add that the twitching is constant and has been for the last 6 weeks. I pretty much can't go 5 seconds without something twitching.

    Complex Case is ALS?

Hi all - I've read your stickies on symptoms multiple times over the past several months and have pretty much perused a large amount of threads looking for answers. But, I figured it is time to ask the questions here about whether this is ALS I'm experiencing? Symptoms started with back pain...
