    Had my EMG

Hi, just wanted to update that I've been diagnosed with Chiari malformation, in case anyone has similar issues as I've had these past years. It's been a lot of waiting and wondering what's going on with my body. I still have some unknown things going on with my muscles, but I'm thankful for the...

Hi, I finally after four years of symptoms I had an EMG done with a neromuscular doctor on 2/14/23 she tested five muscles on my right side.. and she said she normally wouldn't give out information about the results, because my neurologist needs to be the one to tell me, since he referred me...

Hi, I got the results of my esophageal manometry and it was normal, but the last few days I have felt like there is a band around my knee and calf (only my right leg) It's super firm and tight, it makes walking difficult.. does that sound like spasticity? I'm currently waiting on my primary...

You're absolutely right. I really appreciate you giving me reassurance when you didn't have to. I am actually starting an antidepressant today, I've been on it before but came off (not a good choice, obviously)

Hi, I previously posted four years ago about some issues I was having, since then I've got control over my anxiety, the symptoms never went away but I ignored them until now.. I have had swallowing issues for about 4 years, my throat feels weak when I swallow so I've always just took small bites...

It really bothered her as well.. She couldn't eat anything without it tasting too salty. She was in the hospital and rehabilitation centers for a year but thankfully she's pretty much recovered at this point. It took a lot of testing to finally get the diagnosis. They actually spotted the tumor...

Hi, I was reading some of your post and I was wondering if the salty taste you had has ever gone away? My mom had this symtom along with ALS symptoms (muscle weakness, couldn't walk or even turn in bed alone) and it turned out to be an adrenal gland tumor and it caused Cushing syndrome.. I'm...

    So worried

While I'm waiting on my appointment at Emory, I'm wondering if there is anything I can do to stabilize my ankle.. It feels like it's going to snap lately.. It's getting increasing harder to move my foot forward (like when I'm driving) I also have been feeling a tightness in my throat and chest...

    So worried

I went to my follow up with my neroligist and he has referred me to Emory ALS clinic. He hasn't done an EMG on me.. Says it needs to be done there. I'm so scared. He said that my symptoms need to be investigated further.

    So worried

So I went to another neroligist and got diagnosed with "Conversion disorder" my first neroligist diagnosed me with the same thing.. Apparently anxiety can manifest into ALS symptoms when you're worried and actually believing that's what you have. My symptoms are still there and very real, but...
