  • Hey Max - thought you would appreciate this.
A friend of PALS Toby had a friend take him all the way up to Erie to fish for steelhead. It was challenging with the rocky hillside and the walker - but finally he was settled in the beautiful steam in a chair! flyfishing.
    Cool, huh? Nancy
    PS AGAIN,
I enjoy your participation on the forum very much : ))
Hey Max, sorry if I rubbed you the wrong way with my post. TBH I had a bad feeling even before I hit post. I'll try not to ask stupid questions again.
Hi -- ALS/MND is a scary disease to consider/fear. We empathize.

#1 - Read the STICKIES at the top of this forum. Many questions are answered there.

#2 We are not doctors or diagnosticians, but people who are dying from or caring for people with ALS. Some of us have to type with one hand, one finger, via dictation, or even with our eyes, so reading/replying to the anxiety-ridden can be very tiring.

#3 if you think you have a motor neuron issue, see your Primary Care Provider and get a referral to a motor neuron qualified neuro

#4 an EMG, properly done, is the gold standard test for ALS.

#5 ALS does NOT present with pain, cramps, or fatigue.

#6 ALS is about failing, not feeling, so forget the "feeling" symptoms

#7 If your main issue is twitching go to the bfs forum.

#8 Your doctor is wise to look at other diseases. ALS is rare. In order for it to be ALS, it has to be nothing else.

#10 Anxiety can be a real problem that can endanger your physical health.
hey max thanks for letting me post you. you seem to have alot of knowledge about als and it means alot to me that you even read my post regardless if you think i have als or not. can you just help me with something though, like i stated my twiches started in my calfs and ive had it for about 12 weeks now. the thing that worries me is the fact its in my hands. started with twitching in the right thumb and i have very occational twitching in the left very light and faint, but the left on feels the weekest. like i say what worries me is the flatness of the fleshy part of the thumb im sure i can see muscle wastage. both my hands are burning and when i let them sink to the floor my hands feel heavy and they go red raw, when i start to move them again white patches appear until the colour is back in them. i just cant understand what could cause twitching in the calfs and painfull wasting hands other than als. please give me your input, i really appreciate it.
    >Hey Max, hope you are feeling ok. you have been a little quieter than normal! Hugs to you

hangin' in there :) -- my goal is not to complain! :)
Hey Max, hope you are feeling ok. you have been a little quieter than normal! Hugs to you

Are you a Beach Boys fan? I absolutely love this song. My son went to see Brian Wilson with Glen Beck a few months back. I was out of town and was so disappointed I missed it. My son wasn't a huge Beach Boys fan until he saw them. He nearly freaked when they played Good Vibrations.
Your package is on the way....I couldn't find the raw material so I sent a miniature "Monopod".....try your camera on it on a tripod and 'interpolate' the results to a larger version of the tubing......lots-O-rambling notes on ideas for the build....let me know.....doug
    > Hope you were able to enjoy the walk before you got soaked.
