I am a twice widowed, retired flight attendant, currently living with ALS. After 12 years in Chicago as a flight attendant ALS made its appearance in my life, forcing me to retire. My daughter insisted I move in with her and her family. I am so blessed to have the opportunity to be surrounded by them.
I am also grateful to have found a network of people dealing with this disease through the Golden West ALS Chapter. I participated in my first ever Zoom meeting today and it was awesome. Immediately after I was sent an ALS Info book loaded with information and resources, which led me here. I know I have a hard road ahead of me, but with my strong faith, positive attitude and the available support available to me I will be armed to live the rest of my life with joy.
