  • i hope you are getting somewhere with the dragon. everyother person i know tells me i need one and dont get it when i tell them my voice is going so it wont help.. i had the dragon program ten years ago when i was in school and it was a challenge to get set up but then worked well
have a great day and i love reading ur posts
Diane---thank you so much! I appreciate you and your help!! We will go with a portable ramp for now and then I can use it at friends' homes. You're right--the retirement fun is dwindling--uffda! Wish we could all have a no als day and converge in some warm climate to support one another in person. Thank you for your gracious spirit! Blessings to you, Marie
Hi Diane, thanks for your note, I'm hoping that we have a good turnout tomorrow... dropped the price 20K this week, and I heard from my realtor that 2 sets of potential buyers are coming through. I certainly hope so, spent the day cleaning, and I'm shaky from it all, even though I don't feel like I did all that much! Hired 2 guys that Ronnie knows and they cleaned up the basement and alot around the house. I think that if you can afford your home, then just stay there and keep on going! I'm selling 'cause I can't afford it here...
    Love you lots!!!
    Helen
I do think we are blessed Dianne, just as you say. I find I very frequently have a sad moment when I think of something that I can no longer do; but often as not another thought is hard on its heals, and I find myself thinking, "Yes, but I DID do that!" Generally these thoughts are about something to do with family and especially my children, and foolishly enough they are often about things that I cant do because weve all grown up, or because we no longer live near where it happened, not just because of my physical limitations.

Our summer is unusually mild, we typically have a good run of days in the very high 30s, (touching 100 F in the old money). But this year its cool so much of the time. I'm a little anxious about winter around the corner, I feel I dont function nearly as well when I get cold. Do you find the same?

Warm love to you, I hope your mind is clear and your heart has a song.
    Roderick.
Diane, when you close your eyes and picture yourself somewhere, are you picturing yourself in the space you're in, or a different one? If you can afford to stay where you are, I would. Some states have loan programs that will help make your house more accessible (Mass has a $30K low or no interest loan program that you don't have to repay until you sell your home). Moving sucks!
You're doing better than I with that Dragon. I've given up for now with it. I never did get it to work very well and I'm not very patient I suppose.

Yes, I swore I wasn't going to go to another game last time but Brad wanted me to soI did. He really does help me a lot. But my legs were so tired from those stairs that I fell in the kitchen when we got home. He had already gone to bed and heard me fall and came running. No harm done. It's a good thong I'm so short. I can't imagine what all my falls would be like if I had a long way to fall.

Well it's good to see your words Dear One. I'll think of you lurking from now on. xoxoxo!
Aww sorry I worried you, I have been outside awhile today reading, warm in the sun, and nice to read awhile. I hope you have been doing ok..Love you sweet lady...
They are Italian Greyhounds. Elvis (the darkest) was our first, he is in my avitar. His sister is Parker's mommy. Parker was supposed to be a show dog (mom rated #10 IG) but he was and is, too wild. Enzo, the white one, is from the same line. Not a show dog because he is a "uni-baller." His cousin stood best of breed at Westminster show.
    Hello Diane,
Just back from our annual holiday and I wanted to know how you are doing? I'm thinking of you, and I hope that you are managing well. I'd love to hear from you!

    Roderick.
Hi Diane, thanks for your note! I'm hoping that between the last 2 people to look at the house who are interested, maybe I'll get a half decent offer out of it. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you too!

Glad to hear that your hairdresser is coming to your house every week, that will be something to look forward to! Much easier... mine has offered as well for haircuts, as I can't get up her steps anymore. The last time I just went to JCPenney's with my daughter, as she was going anyway, so I figured why not? Cost me twice as much though I love the hairdresser there, I've known her about 9 years now. She was the ONLY person besides myself that my Asperger's son would allow touching his hair! Thankfully not such an issue for him anymore...

Take care my darling, enjoy that warm fireplace! I'm debating whether I should try to buy a cord of wood and get the fireplace going in my house... kinda messy but cheaper than oil!
    Yes Diane,

Since I have never lived there but traveled through, I can only comment on that brief experience.
The person who wrote the paper sure knew what she was talking about. Great to hear you
enjoy it. Such peace, such tranquility. It is amazing what people adapt as there home.

City people are a different kind of bread. :) I live in the country in Indiana, however,
we don't have a great deal of land. We are a bit secluded though. I love it.

Diane, hope all is as well as it can be for you and your loved ones. God sure is blessing
us with our prayers and our friends forums.

    Blessings,
    Jim
    Hello, Diane,
You are so very kind and your message certainly brightened my day. I don't post often but I try to sit at the tea table with y'all at least once a day. That's me, the quiet one over in the corner. I hope you have a great day curled up with your kindle. I love mine! I just got a text that a friend is bringing over dinner. How sweet is that? Doesn't happen often and makes it that much more special. She just pulled up, must have been in the neighborhood. Take care my friend.
    Blessings,
    Linda
Thanks Dianne. I am feeling a bit brighter. I crashed a bit after the last wedding in 2010. It was Annie who told me it was probably post wedding blues..... Miss her so very much. She was always my rock. A touch of post wedding blues tinged with empty nest syndrome ( Anna, Jonny and now Charlotte have left home).
Anyways, I am feeling back to almost full throttle. I have a week from Friday at the beach, then you will see me back with refreshed humour and cynicism with a splash of love ha ha.
I do have some sweatshirts that hide the fact that you have no bra on but it's 75 degrees here today.

With a simple tee shirt (that my husband thinks is the easiest to get on) I might as well go to a bar and see if I could win a contest. Also, a bra is his least favorite article to deal with

Maybe my gait belt could be worn higher. Sometimes it's easier to be silly than serious all the time.

Hope your day is sunny and happy. (HUGS))
