Do i have ALS or BFS? Please help

From experience, let me advise you that seeking "twitch" help here will only feed your anxiety. Every question you ask, every "answer" you get, will never reduce your anxiety. I can't tell you what it is but it sounds like BFS - my body-wide fascics started one night in 1989. And I am one of...

No problem. You appear to be a rational "twitcher". I could go into a lot of detail, but I will...

No problem. You appear to be a rational "twitcher". I could go into a lot of detail, but I will spare you. My BFS or BCFS has been ongoing for 23 years. I would say it has worsened with time, but a much bigger concern is depression and health anxiety that accompanies it sometimes. Mainly due to...

Finally an appointment with ALS specialist

Are there more symptoms than what you have listed here?

In Limbo with 3 DRs and symptoms getting worse.

I would not do that. I know you don't want to hear this but health anxiety can cause everything you have described. You ask how I know? Been there done that. Your symptoms are closer to the ones I dealt with than ALS.

    bulbar als

OK it's time to throw the flag on the field fromeurope. No more questions and no more posts unless you have seen a qualified neurologist. You are welcome here but every question you are asking has been answered countless times and can be answered with a simple search. You are not...

    Nervous About ALS !

I give this advice too often, but... Go chase some REALLY wild women, and forget about ALS!

    very frustrated

Gosh, sorry you had such a bad experience at Mayo-JAX - mine there (for a different reason) was much better. Does not sound like ALS but you need a really good neuromuscular specialist to figure this out. Hopefully all the FL folks can point you in the right direction. Best wishes!

3 Year Fun - What do you think?

Maybe I scanned too quickly (sorry but short attention span) but did not see a reference to the type of doctor you are seeing. If only a neurologist they are very general and you need to be seeing a neuromuscular specialist, preferably at a teaching hospital. BTW your symptoms don't sound at...

2nd Follow Up With Neurologist, ALS Specialist

Steve I would be interested in your feedback after the neuro visit, since my persistent symptoms (not ALS) are similar to yours. And, you appear to be a reasonable rational guy. Mine have persisted for years and I have accepted the diagnosis of BCFS. There are several options to help control the...

    looking for honesty plz

Uhh, get a grip and get off the forum. No ALS for you. How's that? Best wishes.

    concerned

Numbness would point away from ALS and toward something treatable. Treatable conditions can cause what you are experiencing so hold onto that.

Hi, worried that I have ALS..

Unfortunately I don't think anyone is going to be able to offer you great advice except continue persisting with your doctor(s). IF it is neuromuscular, the pain would point away from ALS. And there are many things it could be besides neuromuscular. Carpal tunnel sounds reasonable - don't go...

    Undiagnosed

The reason a competent neurologist could not find any symptom of ALS is because you have none of the symptoms. None. Period. I have had BFS/BFCS for many many years. My money is on that from what you have described.

New symtom. Concernd. Should I be?

Be sure when you show the doc the finger that that one is not the only one protruding.:shock:Might start the appointment on a bad tone. Seriously, and listen to me. Twice in my life I have had stress/anxiety so bad that my lower legs and feet would would begin cramping and start pulling...
