You seem to be very concerned about weakness in the neck/shoulder area after looking over some of your posts? Have you had an EMG yet or seen a neurologist?
I think a neurologist would be a good place to start and get a good clinical exam. If there is clinical weakness, they will be...
I was told that a pinched nerve could cause sensation changes as well as mild feelings of weakness. I'm sure that if a nerve is damaged, it can also cause atrophy. The other day, I had an EMG of my entire body...well 3 legs, my back and neck. Everything was pretty much normal except for my...
I know it's difficult, but please don't try to consume yourself with comparing twitches among others. Everyone is different. You've been on this forum for awhile now, and I believe you have been told that your condition points away from ALS. I have been in your exact same boat, but you will...
Hi everyone!
First off, I wanted to say thank you to all those who have continually offered support for me throughout these last 7 months. It has been a long 7 months, and I can sympathize with so many of you.
I started having body wide twitching last August. It literally came up over night...

I know that many people describe fascics with ALS as looking like worms under the skin. Can you see these fascics all the time or do they stop when you change positions? Lastly, are the fascics really faint or is it easy for anyone to notice them?
I have a quick question. The anxiety I have been feeling is once again through the roof. I was wondering if atrophy always presents with at least a moderate amount of weakness in ALS. Last night I was stretched out and just happened to notice that my left foot has a much more prominent tendon...
I posted a week or so ago about me having trouble opening jars. Since then, I have been able to open many jars. I haven't noticed anymore weakness. However, when I tense up my thumb and move it on my right hand, it completely makes a huge dent underneath the pinkie and you can see the tendon...
First off, I have really tried to get ALS off my mind lately. In November I saw the ALS specialist at Cedars Sinai and she did a clinical exam and found everything to be normal except some asymmetry in my tongue. She scheduled me to have an EMG two months later for my piece of mind. I had...
I'm sorry to annoy you Wright. I truly believe you are a blessing to this forum and I won't bother you anymore. I have just read on here and on other sites as well that biting your tongue in your sleep can definitely be a symptom of ALS. It's happening frequently too.
