  • Hello Kovitzch

I am sorry you are going through all of this anxiety but I can assure you that the story you have shared would not make anyone think you have ALS. It sounds like this has been going on for some time, long enough for the EMG to find something if there was something wrong. You had a clean EMG with a normal clinical exam. There is no need for a second opinion. It sounds like a classic case of benign fasciculating cramp syndrome (BFCS). It is made worse with anxiety, loss of sleep (I'm sure you have lost sleep) and poor nutrition (I bet you are not eating well). I think if you stop thinking you have ALS, you will feel better. I would also recommend you drink plenty of water and to drink tonic water, too (tonic water has quinine in it, which can calm cramps). Please relax.
