  • Hi Kristy, Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I did not get or missed the notification from the forum that I you had responded to me and this is not something I read frequently. If you need to contact me in the future, please write me directly at [email protected].

I do not know when the VMAX+ was purchased, but it has Dynavox's newer eyegaze unit and the most current version of their System 5 AAC software. I also believe that it came with the Boardmaker software--but would need to check. It has the fastest processor that Dynavox used in the VMAX product line (Intel Atom 1.6 GHz processor) and the XGA (1024×768). It is running Windows 7 and is unlocked for internet access (and will work with any standard USB wireless network adapter). The battery is worn and only holds a partial charge (1-2 hours?) and should be replaced for maximum cordless operation. The charger is in good condition.

    Regards,
    Peter
Hi Kristy, My friend with ALS passed away two weeks ago and his Dynavox Vmax+ with eyegaze is for sale. This unit has the most current software installed and also a solid state drive--which means it starts up much faster than your standard VMax unit with a conventional hard drive. It would come with the original hard drive (containing all the original software), a hard waterproof carrying case (probably worth $100 by itself), and a working original Dynavox charger. A bed/desk stand is not included, I have seen them turn up on Ebay or Craigslist; new ones are available from Dynavox. It is fully functional, the battery will hold a charge, but a new one would ensure the longest cordless operation. I am in the western suburbs of Chicago and may be able to give you some assistance getting up and running with it. They would like to get $375 for it.

    Peter
