Hello,
My name is Mershad . i am a recent Brain cancer survivor since 2018. i am also Caregiver to my father battling ALS.
i work full time, summer 2019 i got engaged for my fiance however could not find a way to continue with marriage due to balance in life, so still working on that :).
i have had 2 shoulder surgery , 7 knee surgery and a brain surgery, along with radiation.
i survived many things. but only because i had my strong will father by my side to help me . however in 2019 September he lost his ability to move legs and hands. very fast , and now he has difficulty speaking.

every day i feel like i am failing him, because there is nothing i can do for him.
i struggled to figure a way to get him a lift or proper bed, i struggled for a ramp to get him out. my father is not comfortable with having PSW workers and if i bring PSW he has said he rather not stay to fight ALS:( . so my mother is helping me 24/7 when i work.
lately i struggle to handle life, find out about information on how to help him, what to do for him how to improve quality of his life. and now that covid 19 happens there is not much services for him either. no physio , no OT,
i looked and found this support forum.
thank you and i hope to learn from other members who are battling ALS disease.
