My husband has limb onset als -- diagnosedJuly 2011. He is almost unable to stand now. How will I be able to transfer him from his wheelchair to bed or toilet? We have no family and have recently moved from a small condo to a one level house to accommodate the wheelchair. We have remodeled the bathroom to be wheelchair friendly.
I am having a lot of trouble dealing with this alone. My daughter committed suicide 4 years ago, and I still feel that pain, now is the pain of seeing my husband disintegrate before my eyes. So far I have managed OK, but it is getting hard.
Our current problem is about the transfers. I have been reading this forum for a long time and I know there is so much info out there from people who understand. I appreciate any comments or suggestions.
