  • Hi Egil,
If you have any questions feel free to pm me. Try not to worry. If your emg's are clean it's not ALS.

Hi jjgevf, I've been thinking about your "forgetting how to swallow" problem. Today I had an hour's worth of severe lethargy after a nap. It was in the beginning like I "forgot" how to move my limbs. Your symptoms is real but judging from the answers you've gotten it is not likely ALS. I though about that with myself. I used to see a lot of ALS symptoms in me. They have changed though in the past two months, so I've held some doubt but without any other ideas of what it might be. While I was in this state of lethargy I looked up Parkinson's disease in Wikipedia. I had looked there before without noticing any connection to my symptoms but today I've realized that is what I have, not ALS. The "forgetting" might be a sign of PD. Do some reading, let me know. I have far more symptoms than the "forgetting" but I've had my symptoms for more than a year.
Hi jjgevf, I hear you. The responses to our posting can be a bit brutal. I haven't posted since my intial contact which wasn't very welcoming. Still, I find reading them to help with information. I found out that I have many of the cognitive signs of fibromyalgia though not the pain that is central. I don't know if I have ALS; my symptoms from June have changed and I'm confused. I also don't have insurance. I can see a doctor at a community clinic but they can't help much. I can't work anymore, must apply for disability soon. I am though not afraid. Some of the forum members seemed offended by that statement.
