    Bulbar ALS?

    My husband has bulbar , he had no tongue swelling nor a thick tongue. His speech was his only symptom.He had no pain whatever .Count your blessings .He can’t speak or eat anything by mouth .

    Has anyone applied for a track wheelchair for outdoor activities. I’m thinking they have them through the VA independence fund .

    He was told to take 2 in the morning ,1 in the afternoon and 2 at night .He can’t take anything by mouth , he use’s his feeding tube .

    He was taking it because of biting the inside of his mouth .He has bulbar, and his mouth was always bleeding,No spasms anywhere else.

    I’m really worried about the tight fit .Our kitchen door leads into the garage but the washer and dryer is on one side , and a storage closet on the other side of the door .

    My husband was just fitted for a wheelchair last week.Did anyone have trouble fitting the adapted van in your garage ?We have a washer and dryer on one side of the door , and a closet on the other side .

    Yes , at the VA .They said it would help him from biting the inside of mouth .He mouth was bleeding daily .He was able to walk at the time . Now he is much weaker .

    My husband has bulbar ALS .The DR has upped his dosage of Baclofen to 5 times a day.He is considerably weaker taking after taking them.Anyone else .Thank you .
