  • Hi, nice to meet you! I am from the east coast. My Wife is 58 and was diagnosed with Bulbar onset in May. To say I am overwhelmed is an understatement.
Was your moms symptoms just related to speech? My wife’s is. Been few months but I am always fearful of what’s next.

While this was a shock at first our whole family is now so thankful for the machine now. My moms energy is so much better now that she’s sleeping well which in turn helps her speech and swallowing.
I’d say overall my mom hasn’t shown much progression since diagnosis and we are having a mostly good days. Living in the now and holding onto this!

I hope the initial shock of diagnosis is starting to fade for you both, and you’re starting to find normalcy again. I know the diagnosis sent a huge shock through our family and it took several months to find our rhythm, hope, and confidence again.
Side note- wondering if you were a marine based on your screen name??

I’m not a former marine- I am an avid ship/boat guy and love being out on the water.
