Hi Jean,
I had my pump implanted in January.
So far I as well as my docs, pt and ot have noticed significant decrease in tone and spasticity in my legs.
My Physiatry doc told me it could take months of adjusting to get the right dosage.
So far I am happy with my decision to go with the pump.
Had my Baclofen pump placed on 1/22/13.
4 weeks of rehab, PT, OT.
Feeling improvement in legs. Less spasticity and tone.
I'm not popping any corks yet, but being carefully optimistic.
DBow,
Reading your post was like reading my bio.
Everything you said was exactly how it was for me.
I am a little younger but our experiences are the same.
I have learned that you really find out who your friends are when something like this happens.
Keep on fighting...
Had my baclofen test dose on 11/20. Was not a great experience. LEDs were so weak after. Evaluation says I should go for pump. I agree . Going for it. Anyone with any info on bac pump please feel free to share with me.
I find that after physical therapy, I feel a bit more limber. Moderate exercise is great for you, but try not to be alone when doing. Lighter weight and more reps is the way to go. Therabands are great also. I have major balance problems so I prefer to have assistance when I do exercise...
Hi Tokah,
Thank you so much for responding to my posting.
I am talking with my neurologist about HSP since it is consistent with optic problems as well as bladder problems which I have experienced.
Thanks again...
Hi AKmom,
Thank you so much for responding to my post. I had gone to the eye doc. I have prescription readers, but vision seems to still be diminishing. I'm sure it is a combo of meds and yes, age. I am also talking with my neurologist about the possibility of HSP. I'm still fighting away...
Hi all,
My vision seems to becoming more impaired as I continue my fight with my disorder.
I currently take 120 mg of Baclofen daily as well as 3,000 mg of Keppra daily. I would like
to know if anyone else has or is experiencing similar problems...
Hi Peter,
Thank you for responding. I appreciate your input.
If can get a 20% improvement, I'll be thrilled. Even 10% would thrill me.
So many great people here. It gives me hope.
Thanks again Peter and keep on pluggin.
Hi Peter,
Another member suggested that I inquire with you regarding the baclofen pump procedure and results.
I have severe spasticity problems due to PLS. I currently take Baclofen orally but with very little results.
I will have my evaluation next month. please feel free to offer me any input...
Hi all
Next month I will be going for an evaluation for the Baclofen pump.
I am currently taking 120 mg's a day(some days more) and getting little or no improvement. I am also taking Tizanidine and Keppra.
My doctors are considering the pump so the medicine will go directly to my spine...
