Hey Jim,
Don't mind at all! I'm Mom to 3 beautiful daughters and was called MaP by many of their classmates. 53 is my birth year.
ALS is still pretty new to me. I graduated from MCG in 1976 and only ran across my first and only ALS patient around 1997-98. He was on Hospice at the time and living alone. No Peg, bipap or even a power chair, not even riluzole. It was amazing to watch how his friends banded together to help him remain at home as long as possible.
Eddie is so very fortunate to have you. I do hope you're taking some time for yourself to recharge. Caregiving is NOT an easy task. I've been the sole caregiver to my mom (now 90) since moving back to GA 6 years ago. I had to give up driving in July and my middle child moved from San Diego to help take care of both of us. (I'm a "one and only")
I really enjoyed the link, thanks for posting it. I've found so much useful information on this forum and am truly grateful to all who post here.
