  • I don't see a square box anywhere near the work "permalink". I'm so sorry to be a bother about this.

I am on this Visitor Message Page, and scroll down to the message that I want to delete. On the line with my screen name "GA-yaya" on the right side it says the date, then permalink. That's the only permalink I see on the page. Am I on the right page?

Any other ideas? Can you tell, I don't know what I'm doing? Hahaha!
Hi Peggy, try clicking on the square box on the right of the word, "permalink", rather than the word itself. Then down at the bottom of your page do you see a word, "delete"? If so, click on the box to the right of it. Let me know if this works.

So very glad your mother and your son are sleeping through the night--a major factor in having quality of life. Hope your mom and the Bipap do well together. Take care, Peggy! Ann xo
What you do is go to where the little box says "permalink", click on it, then scroll down to the bottom of the page and see the "Delete Messages"? Click there, too. I'm still learning about things here, with lots left to go...wishing I knew how.

I'm so glad your mom likes the diapers. I hope she uses that Bipap and you all get sleep! Whew, I do like my sleep.

Peggy, I'm so glad! We really need our sleep, PALS and CALS both, to function.

Oh, just saw your post below--and you're Cajun! My friend, the Greek "Yaya" was here yesterday. But I see how the name began with your SIL.

I called a grandmother "Munna" because when she tried to teach Dad to say "Mother", it was "Munna" for a while. Love the stories. Take care, Peggy!

    Ann

ps--you might want to delete your email address--this is public for anyone in or outside the forum to read.
    Hi Ann,
That's really cute about the Greek girlfriend "Yaya". I am a Cajun from Louisiana and a lot of us are just "yaya's". Not really sure where it came from, though. My SIL became "Yaya" when her little nieces/nephews couldn't pronounce Laura, and called her Yaya. Thought that was cute.

I will look into deleting this whole post...thanks for that info. I'm been out of town, and haven't been on the board since last week.

I talked to Mom about the briefs and she is interested in them! Hooray! Once we get her through the Urologists testing and are sure there is no other problem we'll switch her over to them...they have been ordered.

Thanks again for your help! Good night. :)
    Peggy
Hi Peggy--You should be able to delete the whole post (your own post in this case). Are you Greek? My Greek girlfriend has her grandchildren call her "Yaya". I think that's how she spells it.

I hope the briefs work well for her and for you--you need your sleep! Good night,
    Ann
Thanks so much - I didn't realize everyone could read this. I'll see what I can do to remove it.
I'll look into the briefs - she only uses the diapers at night, so we'll look at the X-Plus.
Hope you have a great day!
    Peggy
Peggy, just a head's up; you want to remove your personal email. Anyone can come and read this--it's totally public.
Diapers are Abena Abri-Form AirPlus briefs, and if used at night, try the X-Plus for the most absorbency. We have to be careful with web addresses, so this is the place I get mine, and you can type it in: www dot xpmedical dot com.
Thank you so much! I appreciate your offer to vent...unfortunately, everyone here probably needs periodic venting just to keep it all together.

Mom is going to the Urologist today to rule out a UTI or anything else making her have that frequent urge. Hopefully, we will get good news on that. Maybe adjust the Ditropan that she's been taking for 25 years (yes, she has both MS & ALS). But we'll just have to wait and see.

I will definitely check the thread you mentioned, and I'll let my son know about it also. Mom is very fortunate that she has a daytime caregiver who has previously taken care of ALS patients. She just seems to always know what to do...very reassuring for the rest of us. Just this nighttime routine has her baffled, too.

My personal email is [email protected], if you ever want to chat more.

I'm just getting started with this forum....lots and lots of reading to do with all of this great information. It's been very helpful!

    Thanks again,
    Peggy :)
Hi GA-yaya, This is tifferlynn, you commented on my post under thread -Husaband Waking 4 -5 times a night-. I just wanted to say hi to and I hope things are better. i also wanted to say i always pulled night duty with my mom and anytime you or son would like to talk or just vent i'm happy to be a sounding post (My personal e-mail is [email protected]).

i posted a thread titled- PSP- Please, help us to better understand or to cope- Check it out you and your son may find it helpful.

I once read a saying in a als caregivers book that stated "being a caregiver for someone with ALS is the best job you never want to". I sear truer words have never be spoken. Hope to hear from you soon and hope all is going as best as they can given the situation.
