My response to your question on the forum went to moderation. I'll try to respond here to your question about IPPB. Are you referring to the cough assist machine? If so, my husband never had a problem with further deterioration in the bulbar area after usage. It is very important to use the cough assist to clear any secretions. Maybe your mom would be willing to use the BiPap during the day while watching TV in order to get used to it. There are many masks to choose from, so it is trial and error. Good luck.
