That may be how it got on there, with the intake. I did not think of that. A lot of people do not get how difficult it is to tell what exactly it is. They hear motor neuron and jump to ALS. Thanks for the help. Ed

ALS just shows up on list of diagnoses?

My wife, 47, has had a diagnosis of Upper Motor Neuron Disease, along with dementia, and parkinsonism. As her caregiver for the last 18 months, I was stretched to the max. I had a heart attack 2weeks ago, and had to put my wife in a nursing home. During a family mtg. (at the nursing home) to...

    genetic testing and sporadic als

I believe there is some "research" as they think the chances of having two rare neuro disorders in the same family must have a link. My insurance must have approved it as they would not be moving forward otherwise. I believe there must be some research/publishing money for her uncle and cousin.

    PLS and choking

Hello to all Is choking part of PLS? Although my wife has been recently diagnosed as having Upper Motor Neuron Disease, it seems like she is "coughing" every time she eats. I tried searching to save repeating a question, but I can't search on my phone for some reason. Thanks to all

What does diagnosis "Upper Motor Neuron Disease" mean?

Thank you for the information. Very helpful. I do know she has a positive babinski. I do not know about the other test. As far as EMG I think that is going to be the next phase of testing. Thanks again for the help. Hugs and prayers for all. Very few understand this hell.
