  • Post #2: He is actually looking forward to using a power chair with the lack of energy he has. He can buzz around and walk the dog with me. We did that today while I pushed him in a wheelchair. Our golden retriever Sampson knew exactly what to do and stayed right beside him walking slowly. Sampson kept looking up to him like as if to say, "It's okay!"
Please, keep in touch here even when you move, K? Did you pick a place to go yet?
Yikes, a fall. John has taken quite a few, but not on the stairs. Whew...I'm glad you are okay! God Bless.
I am relieved to see you here. I was worried and considered calling. I know, I go in and out of funk! For a long time I wanted, prayed it was something else, a misdiagnosis, and now I have to face reality. It is more and more apparent. The monster has moved in with us!! He is okay. He is much weaker with more difficulty walking, and his hands are very weak. He can hardly do any fine motor. I help him dress and do a lot he can no longer do.
He was never even asked to do Physical Thearpy or Occupational Therapy. It may be because you are on your own. I think with ALS they teach you to use what you have and how to cope! Because John has me, I think he wasn't even asked. And, at this point he wouldn't have the energy.
Tomorrow he will have a person come to evaluate the house for a chair glide. He has a friend coming to visit and go looking at wheelchair vans, he also has a power chair coming.
Hey there, Loco moco never had one, don't want one...LOL ......I am doing ok, little more wobbly.......Glad your doing ok also....... Did you see my new pics of the recent tournaments. So proud of them. BIG HUG
We are good. John is having trouble with his circulation I guess you would say...his feet are always cold. We feels so sick off and on with neusea. Otherwise, he is pretty much stable where he is. He seems to have stopped progressing...not any worse not any better. Did you find out where you can move/live? It is hard to be at home alone!!
How are you doing Rita? Just thinking about you and wondering what's going on in your world. We're having a nice quiet Sunday here. A sunny fall day.
    Hugs,
    Marta
I was looking for you. It was interesting. I got to talk to Dr Loumis about spring dex trial. Med supply vend some good info. Broke down crying a couple of times with PALS.
Darn!! I was hoping to go when I last posted. And, I was hoping to meet you!! My step son is coming home. He is staying at his mother's house and going to both a memorial mass for his grandfather then a wedding. In between, he will visit us, plus I need to clean my house. He got engaged!!! We met her, but not as a engaged person!! They are staying over Monday night, but I just gotta be here, plus John used to help me clean and really can't now. Anyway, I hope there is another opportunity to meet!
Wow....I hope he gets serious jail time too!!1
Rita, are you going to the ALS Simposium in Milvale tomorrow? Did you hear about it?
    Hi Rita,
Just checking in with you. Hang in there. Remember, any questions we are all here for you.
    Susan
