I'm a 35 year old father of three beautiful children under the age of 4. I'm married to an amazing woman and I am a fulltime firefighter. The reason I am here is that I'm worried that I may have ALS. About a year ago I noticed a weird indentation in my left quad muscle and since then it has become much deeper and obvious. There's never been any real pain associated with it and there was never any injury to cause a tear. In the past couple months I've felt some discomfort in that leg and more recently I've felt a burning sensation in both legs. There has also been some muscle twitching I've noticed in my legs as well. For the past week I haven't been able to sleep at all because of the burning sensation and strange discomfort I feel all night. I had a second doctor look at it and take an ultrasound and he said there appears to be some trauma to the muscle and there is granulation (healing) . I'm worried that is muscle wasting or atrophy that they are seeing because there was no injury. I'm worried sick about this and can't function at this point as I can't sleep so I've been calling in sick to work recently. I have an MRI scheduled in August but I need help and answers now. Please if you have any helpful information I'd appreciate it. Thank you and God bless.
