My CAL is too small to lift me. Guess two people may be able to hold me up long enough to get a bedpan under me. I have no way to get from the wheelchair to the bed and back again. I can no longer stand and arms are becoming useless.

I can no longer stand and got a hospital bed a week ago. Don’t have the hoyer lift yet. It has been several days since I have had a bowel movement. Have asked for palliative care and should be approved. In power wheelchair 24/7. Suggestions please.

Doesn’t seem to be ALS, but if you are concerned make an appointment with a good neuromuscular specialist. There are at least 3 great clinics in Chicago. I went to Rush.

Thanks for the responses. Loose stools present a problem as cleanup is an issue. Cannot get to a commode without a strong persons help and cleanup is difficult for my Cals. Will see what happens today. Next time I change I will try a depends and see if that helps expedite cleanup. Should I...

Have been taking MiraLAX but stool is now too loose and troublesome. Would there be an issue taking 1/2 dose of an anti diarrhea pill?

I am assuming that brakes engage when you stop motion. Is that correct?
