I too am sorry to welcome you here, but you are in the right place. A great deal of experience and many good ideas live here; most importantly, support without judgment from caring people who have actually walked the walk. You and your wife are in my prayers. Dave

    Husband hates BPAP

Renee, When my wife first started on her bipap, she felt claustrophobic. We had to find a mask which made her most comfortable. We also had to make sure the machine was already blowing pressure as the mask was being applied. Those things helped her get comfortable with it. Dave

    Grieving

Annie, I am so sorry for your loss. It seems no matter how long we have to prepare after diagnosis, it is never enough. May he Rest In Peace. My thoughts are with you. Dave

    Dance, Darcey, Dance!

Jim, I am so sorry for your loss. What a beautiful tribute to Darcey and your life together! I pray that she is dancing freely. As Khalil Gibran wrote about death in The Prophet, “Only when you drink from the river of silence shall you indeed sing. And when you have reached the mountain top...

    Bipap and carrying case

Thank you, Laurie. I was unaware of that and assumed that an RT connected to a clinic rather than a equipment company (we had Apria) would be able to set it up. That is kind of you to offer to help. Dave

    Bipap and carrying case

As you see above, one other person has asked a question about it, but did not say they wanted it. I would need to pack it and ship it to you. Once I know the cost of shipping, I could email you, and you could send me a check when you receive the equipment. Then, you would probably need your...

    Bipap and carrying case

We purchased a battery for that purpose. You can find a variety of c-pap batteries on Amazon for a wide range of prices from about $150-300. If you only need it for the car and not any other situations where there is no electricity, you can buy car adapters to run the bipap from your car battery...

    Cristin's Ulf

Cristin, again I am so sorry for your loss and so sorry that you have to bear the burden of what-ifs. We CALS try so hard and try to anticipate all eventualities until we can deceive ourselves into believing that we are actually in control of the outcome. But, alas, ALS has its own path and...

    Cristin's Ulf

Cristin, I am so sorry for your loss. My prayers are with you and your daughter. I must agree with everyone who has said it was the ALS and not anything you did or didn’t do. That being said, I know very well how difficult it is to accept that reality. We always would like to believe we have...

    Bipap and carrying case

I have a ResMed Aircurve 10 bipap that was used about 18 months. It includes a carrying case and 10 filters. Also included are a new 6’ hose, a new water chamber, and a new Philips Amara view mask with two medium cushions. You would need to purchase the headgear for the mask and would need to...
