How do you deal with the feeling that you are a burden?

Hi friends, I am so grateful I found this forum. Even though I haven't been diagnosed yet, after my throat realization (meaning that it is one more symptom that comes and goes but is so present right now and feels like a mucous ball) I am starting to think ahead as if I do have ALS. My number...

Plz help me....I think I may have another sign of ALS

I'm so sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed. It is the most frightening thing I have ever experienced. I'm hoping this is just allergies which traditionally are high right now. I had this problem 4 years ago and it went away and then came back again. Karen

Off topic, but cute just in time for Easter....

Now THAT’S an Easter bunny...verified by http://www.snopes.com/photos/animals/giantrabbit.asp He weighs in at 22 pounds and measures a little over 3 feet. He is a breed of rabbit called German giant (how appropriate!). This is his owner, Hans Wagner, struggling to hold him up. From the NY Post...

Plz help me....I think I may have another sign of ALS

Oh dearest Granny, Your reply brings tears to my eyes. You are wonderful! I am aware of my throat when I swallow. It isn't difficult to swallow, but I feel like there is something in there. I don't think it is nerves - though understandably it could be - because I have had this for years on...

    New to site

Hi Jingles, I am in a similar situation where I have a lot of the signs (both on EMGs and others like balance, spasticity, a few choking episodes [I'm not sure if it was my swallowing incorrectly or another ALS symptom], a weird feeling in my throat even if I don't swallow, and hyperreactive...

Plz help me....I think I may have another sign of ALS

Hi forum friends, I have not yet been diagnosed with ALS, but I do have upper and lower motor neuron damage as witnessed by my troubles walking (spasticity) and balance and most of all EMGs. I got a terror running through me (literally) when I realized that I *may* have another sign - it's not...

    About new ALS drug Robaxin

Hi Spud, I have two main symptoms: spasticity - meaning that my legs are spastic. Basically the hammer hitting underneath my knee results in a huge leg shooting out and residual taps. balance problems - when I'm walking it feels like I'm on a boat and it is moving. Neither of these symptoms...

    About new ALS drug Robaxin

thank you for all of your help! I had a bad reaction (rash and itchiness) shortly after taking my first pill of Robaxin, so my doctor has to find another med for me to help with spasticity. Karen

Also, can I have a glass of wine with this med? I like to have a glass or two of great red wine with dinner, but I don't want to hurt my liver. Karen

    About new ALS drug Robaxin

Hi friends, I was on Baclofen and it didn't really help with my balance (spasticity) and walking. So, now my neurologist has put me on Robaxin. Do any of you have experience with Robaxin? Good or bad? Thanks in advance. Karen (I'm grateful I found this forum.)

New with lots of questions about ALS

Thought I'd add my symptons: 1. my balance is very bad 2. hyperreactive reflexes That's it! I don't have the babinski reflex, but my latest EMG showed lower motor neuron damage, which was a new sign. I had two weeks of feeling NORMAL - I could even run - and that was with 40 mg of...

New with lots of questions about ALS

Thanks for the welcome! One of my greatest fears is that I am alone. I do have two sons, but they are starting their new adult lives. I am not married, and even though I have a "boyfriend" he ain't going to take care of me. I'm in Tucson, Arizona. I am very afraid. Karen

New with lots of questions about ALS

Hi dear friends, My name is Karen and I have upper motor neuron damage and as of my last EMG it appears I now have lower motor neuron damage. I had lumbar fusion in 200 (l5-S1) and my docs are saying that my surgery has nothing to do with my MND. I'm 46 years young and have two sons. I'm a...
