Just wanted you to know you are not alone. We too are at home with my hubby and his vent, PEG and a pharmacy of meds, with only eye movement left. Coping seems to be all that any of us can do. We don't have any small children although my husband is only 35 yrs. old. Will be thinking of you and praying that your family can have as much happiness as this disease will allow.

sorry havent been on for awhile, busy with everything! Jen continues to progress albiet slower than last year. Twins are enjoying summer and we are thankful for family.

I hope you are adjuting to your new living arrangements. Family really is a blessing. I hope Jenn is doing better as well, Don is feeling better but not 100%. I have talked him into a 2 week journey cross country to spend time wih the kids and make memories so we are headed to the Grand Canyon via car on Friday. Fun fun wait until your twins are teenagers. I am excited but nervous but I am determined to make it a memorible vacation for everyone. I hope you all have a wonderful Easter and God Bless enjoy playing the Easter Bunny!

You can tell More Than A Family that you heard about them from Saralea Holstrom at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Naperville. ( My church. ) I am not a night shift person but if I can do anything for you during the day, stay with Jen while someone else takes a break, do something to amuse the kids, go grocery shopping for you, go pick up prescriptions, deliver a meal ( I love to cook. ), etc, etc I would be happy to help you. Did you get my message about possible places to hire caregivers and the different hospices in the area? You and Jen and your family have been on my mind. What do you still need?

I hope things are going well with your wife. I think of all the caregivers so often and wonder if they feel the same as I do on days. Don has been very sick with something respiratory but they don't know so are treating with antibiotics now. It is bad enough to fight this disease then to add the extra with it really makes somedays tougher then others. God bless and enjoy every moment good or bad.

I will be glad to check in with nurses I know to see whether anyone might be interested in home care or whether they know of anyone who might be. If you belong to a church that might be a good place to post a notice about needing help. What kind of care and what hours are you looking for? I would be interested in doing something to help and would charge you less than an agency but I cannot do full time, so whether I can help would be determined by what you need. I understand where you are coming from in needing care and seeing the money going out so fast. My mother is seeing the money roll out as she pays for caregivers for my dad. Hospice people gave her a list of area caregivers that she could hire so she isn't going through an agency. Costs are a good bit less than an agency would charge. I'm sure there are caregivers around here like that and will do all I can to help you locate some. Just give me the rundown on what you need and the hours of coverage you need. Debbie
