  • I live in the Yonge-Davisville area but work in Missisauga, where about are you? As for the EMG, it was a single needle EMG done on the right leg, progable 4 point in teh lower part of the leg, another 4 in the upper part, maybe 5 points. then the arm about 3-4 points. No jaw or neck done. Alright, gotta get going. Have to pick up our kid at daycare. thanks for chatting with me, you are right it feels nive to conenct with someone about this and not feel alone. Feels good.
He doesn't really know, he said that he will refer me to another neurologist that investigates metabolic myopathies but that it was unlikely they'll find something there. I would gladly accept that things are fine with me but the symptoms are getting ever so slightly worse with time. It started 2.5 yrs ago with very little fatigue in the legs when running (as if i couldnt run as fast as i used to) and now my legs are REALLY tired all the time...sort of hard to ignore.
Hi, I have seen a number of doctors. I saw a neurosurgeon at TWH (Dr. Tator) as I have a tiny cervical syrinx and he is the expert in that field (said this was definitely benign). My neuro is Dr. Lazarou at Mount Sinai Hospital, he was the one that did the EMG/NCV, blood tests, full neuro exam. Very nice guy, although I felt that the EMG/NCV was a bit rushed (maybe 30-40min total).
Wright, may I ask what your ALS experience has been? It doesn't seem you have it, but are so educatedon it - perhaps a family member has been afflicted?
Your second message did make it to me (I erase them after I respond to them). It sounds as if you are on your way to putting this ALS stuff behind you. Good for you. Enjoy the holidays and be especially thankful.
    Hello Clichti

EMG's can be dirty for a gazillion different reasons (carpal tunnel, slipped disk, pinched nerve, etc., etc.). Therefore, the answer to your question is yes. I also read your thread: Simply stated . . . you do not have ALS. Please do your best to relax.
