  • Hi Donna,
How are things going for you? I'm hanging in there. Really miss dad alot. Kind of get weepy at times knowing that my dad won't see the twins graduate from high school next month. But, I know he's in a better place and not suffering. I go to a grief support group every other Tuesday at a local church. It helps talking it out a little.
I just was in the hospital last weekend getting a kidney stone removed. It hurt like hell. Take care, Kim
    Hi Donna,
How was your Christmas? Mine wasn't too bad actually even though I miss my dad terribly. I had a good time with my aunt, husband (we're separated though) and kids on Christmas Eve before I had to work. I got myself my own present a few weeks ago. I got a Beagle from our humane society. He's a little leash. He isn't real good on a leash yet but I'm working on it. He likes to drag me around the block. lol Take care, Kim
Hi Donna, I've been stalking you on threads...haha! No I seem to be reading them just after you post.
I just had to tell you how truly inspirational you are. Your comments are heartfelt and uplifting.
To come here and support after your beloved has been set free...you're awesome.
    God bless, Janelle x
    Hey Donna,
Happy you accepted my friend request. As I was just explaining to Gembead - This has gone so fast (he had a little pain in his left calf in June and now he can barely move...I can hardly believe it. I feel like it's a nightmare I am (we are) going to wake up out of...and then I think, maybe he's just fooling with me and any second now he's going to jump up, run circles around me, hug me and tell me it was all a bad joke...ok, now I'm crying... Ron is just soooo very depressed, he's lost his smile and I so miss his laugh. Really the only time he's happy is when he's playing games such as Aggravation and Mexican Train with our friends. Apart from that he's absolutely miserable and just sits there watching TV with a kind of scowl on his face :-( When we go for his next neuro visit I'm going to ask them about anti-depressants. It's also depressing me but I don't want to resort to pills. Hugs to you too Donna xoxoxo
    Hi Donna,
Just wanted to wish you Merry Christmas. I am so sorry that it is going to be hard of you this year. I hope beautiful memories surround you and help you through it. Thank you for your friendship and words of encouragement on here. Hugs, Kim
    Dearest Donna,
I am so sorry for your loss of Joe. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Kim
Mere page, I am still learning to navigate this forum. Just discovered your note from August! Sorry. The answer is he never had an EMG until the month of his diagnosis! The two years we were searching for answers, he was seeing ear, nose throat specialists, because swallowing was his initial symptom. (Bulbar form of ALS!). It took 2 years and going to Johns Hopkins hospital before the ENT specialist noticed fascilulations in his face, tongue and said to see a neurologist! Everyone starts with different symptoms, it seems like!
Question if I may....Did your husband have clean EMG's in the 2 years it took to be diagnosed? Hope you are doing as best as you can in this situation
