  • Thanks for your message. I haven't been in the forum much. My Dad went to the ALS clinic 7/19/10 and never came home. He was admitted for Bipap trial d/t his labored breathing. He started getting confused, didn't tolerate Bipap, he then was transferred to a nursing home near my Mom b/c we couldn't get him into the Hospice House (full). His confusion never really cleared. He deteriorated from there as his repiratory system failed and he passed in the wee hours of the am while I slept in the bed next to him in the nursing home. I love what you wrote below. It is so fitting. hope you and your wife are faring well with your challenges. I understand her comment about her being ready for the journey to be over. My Dad and I had some very poignant conversations about that. Peace. I will look into getting some of my Dad's photographic endeavors posted to my site in the upcoming weeks for all to see.

Thank you for the well wishes on my wife's behalf. At the moment she is travelling very well, considering the road she is on, although just yesterday she confided to me that she was ready for her journey to be over. All in God's good timing I suppose. His mercies are renewed each morning and his strength is sufficent for each new trial. His peace overcomes all fear and his love endures forever.

I read as much as the next guy and maybe a little more then most. Trust me when I tell you that God has given you a gift. Keep writing.
    Hello Jim,
I wanted to say Hi and thank you for your thoughtful comment on "The Most Dangerous Game". I have found such encouragement and courage itself in sharing my story here and on a blog I have written for some months; and kind words like yours have a way of validating the journey I reckon.

Ive read a few of your posts, and I hope that your wife is travelling well. Blessings and Peace,
    Roderick.
from Tifferlynn - help- is this Unethical: you replied to my question and i just wanted to say thank you and i will keep you posted
Still no baby arrival! Her weekly appt is this afternoon so will see what that brings. xo
Jim, still no baby :[ I had to come home. I hope he decides to vacate his womb home soon or he will be able to walk out!! xo
Hi Jim! I am new to this forum. My Dad was diagnosed w/ ALS 3/10 and it is progressing fast. He is walking poorly and has about 10 % use of one hand left. My heart is breaking. Being a nurse myself, I know what lies ahead, as do Dad and mom at this point. Dad was actually snowblowing in Jan and now he can do barely anything. I was struck by your photos as my Dad took upKayaking in his 60's and was doing it last season w/o trouble. He also took a penchant to photography which he is modest about but he has some lovely shots. I love the ones you've posted. Well, I shall see you on the forum more from here on, I think. The group here seems great. My best to you and your wife. Heather

Thanks, most of my pics don't turn out this good but you know what they say, 'Even a blind hog finds an acorn every once in awhile'.

Most of my work has been in immunology, antibody production and purification but lating I have been doing more in with DNA and protein expression.
