Thanks for asking.

My appointment did not go that well. my wife and I were hoping for a miracle that never came. I am showing increased weakness in my left arm (my "good" arm) and legs. Dr ringel wants me to start on baclofin and start at the MDA clinic in a few months. He said my original diagnosis of MND is correct...I asked MND or ALS? He basically stated they are one and the same, just differing severity. I have an atypical form of ALS, very slowly progressing form of ALS.

My wife and I are taking it all in and trying to determine what to tell the kids. It really hit hard when he explained MND=ALS.

Yes Dr. Quan tortured me. I wonder which neuro med school class sucks the personality out of them????????????

Are you still working? Do you go to the MDA clinic? How are you holding up mentally...I think I am losing it...I am so mad at everyone and everything all the time.

Yes! You are right. I go by Val on most things.
Teeheehee, I didn't meet Dr. Quan. I had my EMG done here in NE and was referred to Dr R by my neuro here 'cause she couldn't figure me out . . . after she ordered a brain MRI (my 3rd), a spinal MRI (my 2nd), a spinal tap, an EMG (my 2nd), a Nerve Conduction Study (my 2nd) and a slew of blood tests!
Didn't I read that you live in Colorado Springs? My husband just retired from the Air Force.

Thanks. Do you still go to univ. of co? Has your weakness progressed? I do not have a definative diagnosis yet either other than Monomelic MND...hopefully it never progresses beyond that.

Hi Brian, glad to meet someone close to me. We live in Pagosa Springs. Hope we get to meet up sometime. rich and I are always going up to Denver for my Dr. app. and to see my kids...

How are you? Do you have as much sonw as we do? YIKES! My daughter is driving up to Telluride next week to from Northern California to visit her friends before she gets toooo big of a baby bump. I wish that she would just stay home and off the mountain passes :]
