I too have a nodual on my thyroid, my levels have been normal for the most part, I have hashimoto thyroiditis . That can cause elevated ck levels. You might want to check with an endocrinologist. Sound like a thyroid issue to me. In my opinion.
I'm so sorry about your mother in law. You are right they really don't know what causes sporatic als. If they did there might be a cure, wouldn't that be nice! I pray everyday for those who suffer from this nasty nasty desease and really pray they find a cure, I plan on doing a walk for als!
Hi, I'm not a dr and I don't have als, but what it sounds like to me is you are having precieved weakness, and benign fasciculation syndrome. Have you ever got your vitamins d and b12 tested? Also look into thyriod issues. I would check in with your primary dr and get some blood work done...

Thyroid desease does run in families, my mom, sister, grandma, great grandma, all had/ have thyroid issues, worth looking to, it is much more likely then a fatal desease like als.
