Father-in-law a veteran, dx ALS 6/2022. Looking back suspected signs started as early as 2018, foot drop mid-2021. He was supposedly a "slow-progressor". Til he wasnt. Skipped the whole "cant use arms" and "cant swallow" stages....just went from no leg use and 5 months later, breathing ended in 2 days. RIP Dick Miller.
We helped him with physical adaptations and mental health, and the Veterans Admin was a great deal of help both with equipment and financially.
