    Voice Banking Question

Fiona, yes it's a lot of work. Pace yourself. I did about an hour a day. So worth it, now that I have lost my voice entirely. You won't be sorry. I can't imagine being without it now. Charlene

    Introducing Myself

Curtis, so much has already been mentioned. I banked my voice early on using ModelTalker. Just google it, and you'll be walked through. The company is very helpful and friendly. Now I have no voice whatsoever, so my banked voice is what I access when I type. I am so, so glad I did this...

    Coming off bipap?

A low dose of morphine on a regular basis has worked wonders for me in terms of curbing air hunger. If I feel air hunger coming on, a little Ativan and morphine preempts a crisis. Glad to know your Dad is doing better. Air hunger is so scary. Charlene

    Iven is at peace.

What you write is deeply moving. Iven's passing into eternity was what everyone would wish for. His last hours on earth were spent receiving the love of his family, and in peace he left this world. You were there for him every step of this difficult journey, and at the end your love and...

    BLOOD CLOT: lesson learned

I have been having severe pain in my left calf, and feeling short of breath for a few weeks now. As one might expect, I attributed it to ALS, and just assumed I was declining fast. I have always had some pain in my left calf, so I didn't think an increase in pain was due to something else. On...

    Question about MicKey/PEG tube

I appreciate all the replies. It's wonderful to be able to turn to the forum community for answers. Diane, it's the original tube, and he told me it would hurt. Vince, I appreciate all you wrote. The reason for the switch is because my PEG is unusually long and clunky! It is a nuisance, gets...

    Question about MicKey/PEG tube

The surgeon who inserted the PEG tube will be replacing it (at my request) with a MicKey. He's never done a MicKey tube before, but I trust his surgical skills. My question is this: He says that he will do the procedure without any anesthesia (because a local would not go deep enough and be...

    Visit

Thank you for sharing. What a blessing to have your priest friend visit you right after diagnosis, which is a particularly difficult time. I'm glad the Lord has given you peace. As time goes on, His peace will abide in you, as you trust in Him, your life in His hands. May this visit be just...
