    Soreness

Hi slimva, thanks for replying. It's just the twitching and soreness really have me freaked out, I try to put it out of my mind but I literally can't stop worrying about it.

    Soreness

Thanks Nikki, I know you're right I'm just scared. My symptoms are constant and it's hard to forget them. I don't want to bother the drs again as it's embarrassing. I want to believe the neurologist but he didn't do an EMG and from what I understand that's the only thing that can diagnose als...

    Soreness

Hi, thanks for replying. I've read about people having sore muscles ( not sure what ones as they didn't say) in the very early stages of als, one lady said her arms were sore the next day after holding her grand child. I am experiencing daily soreness in my left thigh after very little...

    Soreness

Hi all, I know it hasn't been very long since I last posted but I have another question if that's ok? I've been reading a lot of people have muscle soreness as an early symptom and I'm wondering if any one can elaborate on this? Does weakness or atrophy follow next? If so how long after? Many...

    Atrophy

I've had the chronic soreness in my left thigh for months now, it definitely gets worse the more I do. Am I right in thinking muscle soreness ( in my case left thigh ) isn't typical ALS onset? Thanks for your help all. X

    Atrophy

Yes you are right, I've previously read that information, it just seems strange I've been having the soreness for so long. Thanks for the help though, I take on board what everyone says. X

    Atrophy

Thanks both for the response, texastracy your nail varnish is lovely! Obviously my concern is the area around my knee, I'm not sure if it's possible to atrophy there first ? Does weakness come before or after? Thanks again x

    Atrophy

Thanks for reply Clearwater AL, I don't know much about atrophy, especially in thigh/knee area, not sure what it feels like. My "dent" is sore, soft and sqidgey. My whole left thigh is also sore after using it for very little.

    Atrophy

Thanks for replying Nikki. Yes I saw a neuro who did a clinical exam, I'm not aware that he took any notice of my legs ( I mean atrophy) , I had my jeans on so he didn't see the dent. He said I didn't need EMG and to go back if there are any changes. I read on here someone had " dents " that...

    Atrophy

Please can someone explain to me what atrophy is like when it begins. I have a "dent" in my inner knee/lower quad area, it hurts when I push it and I don't have one on my right side. My left thigh is tight and sore. Any opinions/ advice welcome, thank you.

    Stiffness

Thanks all for replying, the soreness in my left thigh is there every day now, I'm constantly twitching in my thighs, if I walk my dog, the next day my legs ache but as far as I can tell I'm just as strong and I don't have weakness, I just want to know what's going on with me.

    Stiffness

I'm worrying myself silly! I've been reading about how twitches can be first sign of als especially if they are confined to one area ( mine are. ) I thought weakness cams first, I can't see the neuro until April.

    Stiffness

Thank you both for replying. I've been referred to a neurologist so I'm waiting for an appointment, I'm worried about the soreness as it's on a daily basis now without any exercise, I read an old post about being sore after hoovering etc and that's whats happening to me. I know I should try...
