  • Hi well this subject is obviously a controversial one as you can tell. From what I have seen and read and observed from the disease, I have found 3 profound truths 1) twitching is non-diagnostic of ALS 2) twitching without the presence of clinical not percieved weakness is considered non-pathological 3) the physiology of the disease holds true that with regards to fascics, if they are present as a part of pathological consequence, then the EMG is sufficient to detect the pathology at anytime. This is not to say that a BFSer will not develop the disease being that the prevalence holds true to all population. It is useless to worry yourself, I have migraines and sometimes blurry vision but it is ridiculous for me to sit in a constant state of worry and have an oncologist on speed dial for fear one day I may develop brain cancer. Hope this helps
Yes my email is [email protected], all lower case. Feel free to reach me there at anytime, I'll keep and close eye on my email to watch for you. I really hope you are hanging in there alright, I know this stuff is hard and the worry that can come attached with it is enough to break even the strongest soul. Send me an email when you get this, talk soon, take care, Robynn:)
I just responded to your question on that thread you just posted on. Let me know if you need any help or have anymore questions about BFS. I'm online most days, and I have BFS, and the cramping and tightness in your legs is what I deal with daily, so I know where you are coming from and I know it sucks, but it is so common for BFSers. Not trying to push my thoughts, just wanted you to know there are other explanations for your symptoms, not ALS. Take Care:)
Your story doesn't sound a thing like ALS. Please relax and let your neuro get to the bottom of your problem.
