    Hi Al,

May I know which clinic are you with? I'm currently at Sunnybrook, don't know if it is good.

    Regards

Hi Al. My name is Malissa and you have helped me before and I need help again. I need you to tell me how to post a question and I was wondering if you could help me as well? My brother was diagnoses with ALS in May of 2011. He his wheelchair dependant at this point. His symptoms are aligned with and somewhat contrary to things I have read. I swear, as much as they know, they don't know. Anyway, his muscle spasms are so severe they nearly shake him out of his wheelchair. His stomach cramps are extreme. His speech and swallowing are fine. He has gained weight. He also has a dr who is MD trained and only sees him every 3 months. If you have any guidance, it would be greatly appreciated.

It's right below used equipment. Support for Caregivers. Hiding in plain sight.
Al - I saw that the CALS forum is closed, but I don't seem to see the "forum lower" in the list that you're referencing. Am I nuts? Am I blind? Am I completely losing it? LOL

Hi Al, I'm wondering if you can point me in the right direction: some time ago someone posted an equipment list of how to do-it-yourself ceiling track for a lift system. I'm trying to come up with a creative way for me to get up/down 3 steps and thought that the track system may help. Also, do you know of any vests that PALS can wear that buckle close and can be snapped to a ceiling track to prevent falls? Can't find what I'm thinking of online...
    Thanks so much! Helen
Gretchen; you can use the Private Message to talk privately. Look in FAQ above for instructions. Or click on person's name and PM is in drop down menu.
Dear Al, thank you again for deleting my posts several months ago re my sister. It was a good thing because now that her diagnosis has been confirmed (second opinion by the B.C. ALS Clinic) she does want to be on this site. I got to know several people - Marta, Ken, Aly and others and they have all become her friends now that she is coming to terms with the diagnosis. My question is this - is there some way for PALS and CALS to have the same friends but keep their correspondence separate? Right now, whatever I write my friends, my sister can see. And whomever she befriends and writes, I can see. Is there a way on this site for complete confidentiality unless otherwise wanted? Hope you are doing well and once again, thank you very much for your empathy and understanding when I first joined your group.
Hi Al! - I was wandering if you were still kicking about- Glad to hear from you- all the best for the New Years. I'll let you know if my doctors ever get connected to each other- Karin
    Hi Al,

Have you ever thought of making a widow/widower thread in the site? we have so many here and they really seem to need support. It would be good if they had a place to talk to each other and support each other. maybe it could be in the off topic section... I worry about a lot of them.
Hi al hope you are having a great Christmas day. It's boxing day today here and I am still full!
When you get a minute theres a load of rubbish on the pls forum that needs removing. No hurry, it's just creepily weird :)
Wow you guys will certainly have a full house! That will certainly make for lots and lots of wonderful memories! I hope Lee heals quicky, that sounds painful!
Despite the fact that I enjoy sparring with trfogey from time to time I like you know he is very good for the forum and I too try and counter balance him...but there are definitely times that his tone is deserved and needed! He helps a lot of people with his knowledge. Like I said this is a great forum and you do a lot to make it that way!
Enjoy the family and Merry Christmas and happy Boxer day my friend!
