    Hi Steve,

I have had 3 different docs look at the lab tests. First doc "had suspicons". Second doc said, "not my specialty, you need to see a doc in the US." Third doc said, "you have ALS".

All blood work and emgs point to ALS.
    So A&A,

Did you get a second opinion and another set of blood work done? Have you tried the synthroid medication yet? I know you have to have a script for this, but it shouldn't be that hard to get one if you talk to the right Dr.

I just think this is worth trying, especially since you don't yet have a diagnosis anyway. And one of the ways they determine als is by eliminating everything else. I still think you should at least give it a try. You'll be amazed at the change if it is indeed a thyroid condition, I promise.

    Good luck,
    Steve
    Hi A&A,

Not sure how to answer that except to say that 'no', you are not completely alone. You have this forum, and everyone here has experienced the exact same fear you are feeling. Whether it is the PALS or the CALS, we are all in the same boat. It does get better, in time. Once you get a diagnosis, one way or the other, you begin to make any necessary adjustments. Life is not yet over, and it can actually take on a whole new meaning, believe it or not.

Also, just a tip, it's easier to follow the conversation if you reply on that person's profile page.

Jump on the forums any time with your questions and concerns. Try to pick the 'thread' that is most relevant to your thoughts, or you can make a new one if you don't see your topic. If you post in the right places, you will get more responses.

    Hang tough,
    Steve
