........................... ?

Home. I can no longer travel. Family is coming to me this year if they can get through the storm that is coming later today and tomorrow. If they don’t make it, I will appreciate the peace and quiet. Hoping to see the Mister Rogers movie.

I'll be about 15 minutes away from my condo at my brother's. He has dementia and just yesterday had eye surgery. He's 83. His wife is 77. I drove to Whole Foods, about an hour away, today to pick up our order. It's all cooked, just need to reheat. Done are the days when I cooked from Monday to Thursday. I ordered a deep dish apple pie online and a Cheesecake Factory party wheel cake. Any sweet leftovers will be taken to my card group on Friday.

Karen, I really want to see the Mister Rogers movie, too. I prefer to watch it from my lift chair but might have to go to the theater. We have one theater nearby that has electric recliners. It also has a row for PWCs. The guy who takes tickets is in a PWC.

The rest of the weekend will be peaceful and quiet. I have quite a few shows recorded and no desire to fight any more traffic. Today wasn't bad except when I was 15 minutes from Orlando.

I’ll be home of course, I have access to all the good hiding places.😃

I'll be going with my adult children to my mother's house an hour and a half away...over the river and through the woods! My son and daughter are cooking and preparing my usual contributions to the dinner. My brother is building a ramp for me to get up the steps into her house. Fingers crossed 🤞
My husband is a major retail store assistant manager and has to open the store Thursday afternoon so he cannot attend with us. Corporate greed has kept him from enjoying Thanksgiving Dinner for a number of years now since stores decided to open up on the holiday!😤

Karen and Kim,
My daughter and I intend to go see Mr. Rogers as well sometime over the weekend. Can't wait. We found a theater which is costly but has wheelchair accessible seats for reserve.

I think it's very sad that some stores feel the necessity to open on Thanksgiving. Our main grocery store and Walgreens will stay closed and even close early on Thanksgiving Eve and Christmas Eve.

We'll all have to compare impressions of the Mr. Rogers movie!

We are in San Antonio, Texas for thanksgiving. Despite the issues with the criminal element here, we are having a great time visiting with lots of family.

Each year we gather for Thanksgiving dinner at my mother-in-laws house. Each of the sibling families and their [now] grown children pitch in to provide a specified part of the whole dinner feast. Our "part" is the cooking of the turkeys. We prefer the Butterball turkey filled with Pepperidge Farm stuffing. Darcey used to do the turkeys. Once she was no longer able, my son Jim and I have done the turkeys, together. We've actually gotten quite good and efficient getting them ready to cook. This year, because of my back surgery, I'm restricted to lifting weights no greater than 10 pounds. So Jim did 99% of it this year. I did hold the "cooking bag" open as he slid each turkey in.

Son Jim will deliver the cooked turkeys at noon, today. Darcey, Gina (who is filling in as our full-time caregiver for Darcey while I'm recovering) and I will remain home today. Jim will bring each of us back a plate for dinner later in the day (they'll eat about 1:30ish). And to make sure we don't feel slighted ("we" being Jim, Gina and me), we've another turkey in the freezer. My daughter will fly in from Seattle for a week in December. I think we'll pull out that 3rd turkey then.

I hope that each of you are able to find things to be thankful for. We sure will. May the day fill you with the love of friends and family and give you reason for some good cheer!

My best...

Jim

Joyce and I will be at home this year with the puppies. It will be a simple meal of turkey, dressing and cranberry.

Wilson, I'd like that too. But... this will be the last year at our big house. Every year we have family here.
About 18 to 24 people. for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I bought a 24 lb turkey..

Because of circumstances we just couldn't do all the cooking so we've cheated and went to that big
C,,,,,. membership store (trying not make and ad) and bought big trays of mashed potatoes, green beans,
cheese and mac, shrimp trays and etc. We'll put it all in our bowls, trays and pans.. :)

Yes, we are blessed we could afford to do this.... I always remember the less fortunate who can't.
Remember them in your dinner prayer.

Anywhoo, my favorite saying now .... "nothing stays the same anymore."

Ya all have a the best Thanksgiving that now best can be.

Our condo is collecting supplies for veterans who are home bound. I went out yesterday afternoon and bought some things they asked for. Things so simple such as socks and personal items. I still plan on baking cookies this weekend for our first responders. I've never frozen cookies but I'm giving it a try this year.

Al, good point to always be thankful and remember those who struggle too put food on their tables. May the hearts of the very rich be filled with the spirit of giving today in such a way that it makes an impact on world hunger. That's my wish and my prayer.

I just saw the Mister Rogers movie. 👍👍👍👍

now I get to enjoy my delicious meal of formula 😋😁

Interesting note.

In a movie to be released October 2020 Tom Hanks will play/star as "Finch".... the last surviving man on Earth.
