Hi all. 28 year old female. Posted before at about 4 months ago (almost)! 29 weeks pregnant now. I know I've heard that ALS should be far far from my mind with the symptoms I have described on this site, but.....something I've noticed and I could use yalls opinion on.
18 months ago..after a bout of severe dehydration and medicine withdrawal..that night I remember my thigh twitching like nuts. (whether this twitching was caused by what had happened, I dont know, Im just giving my story here). By the next day it had spread all over my body- random pops here in there. I call them "hit n runs"- feels like someone touches me and runs off. I may had a handful that tapped the whole muscle and you could see the muscle jump. I would say it went on for about maybe 4-6 months.
My General Doctor had it documented that I had asked him about it when I saw him this past Feb. Somehow over the summer it went away. (I had changed medication..started taking magnesium working out etc..) If I had a twitch- it was not noticeable but I am pretty sure they were gone ALL summer.
Ok Fast forward..to....3 1/2 months ago. I was sitting on my couch right at about 3 months pregnant. I saw my thigh muscle "thump thump thump". Didnt think much of it. Went to sleep..next day- i had the random sporatic ones everywhere. When I say they "hit n run everywhere" I mean even my "private parts". Well I came on here and got some wonderful replies from AL and a couple of other people..I felt confident...however a month later I did go see my GP. The fear was eating me alive. When seeing him, he did strength tests.. ALL NORMAL.. told me I was strong as a OX. He watched me walk, heels and toes, even made me do a few calve raises to tippy toes etc. and said "you're fine. With what you describe as far as your twitching and your strength being GREAT, I see no need for a neuro". WONDERFUL I THOUGHT! I also couldn't stop there, I went to another doc..he did the same things said the same thing.
Fast forward again to 4 days ago. I came across a website and people were mentioning DENTS! What was a DENT? Ofcourse if you search you find. So I noticed while outside cutting my dogs hair..my calve had a few dents in it. I flipped out. I had NEVER noticed these before. It only appeared in certain ways that I had the muscle. When I put my heels on and stood and slid my hand down the muscle was smooth as ever. So I let it go. Well last night I had flip flips on..and I happened to look down at a wierd angle and saw my right foot around the ankle I had a dent and dimple..I lost it. I started hyperventilating, I threw up my food..I cried all night and just stared at the foot. I dont even twitch in that AREA never HAVE! My twitching has been almost diminshed..now I am looking @ DENTS? I know I have OCD and hyperchondria. I'm under a psychiatrists care. Esp since I cant take my medication for it..when the going gets bad the going gets bad. I spent numerous hours last night doing heel n toes, calve raises, one legged calve raises etc. Strength still perfect.
What do you guys and girls think? You know a part of me thinks, Its prob always been that way- I've just never looked. Sorta like my calve..I saw the word DENT and noticed what I thought was dent in my calve then to only look @ the other one and see I had the same thing in my left one just not as prominent..(because its not my dominant foot).
I prob would have NEVER noticed my foot until I was more sensitive to look for dents. Because I had taken a shower, shaved, and NEVER SAW it til that evening.
I am not sure how atrophy works. Are they dents? I read by a TOP ALS specialist that WEAKNESS is greatly Disportionately greater than atrophy.
I have 10 weeks til delivery- I am trying so hard to get on with this. I guess I could just use some support..
Thanks Everyone, Sorry to bother- Your in my prayers...Always have been since I came to this site day 1.
I just want to be my age 28..and raise my daughter and forget this stuff..

I do need to add I get some pins n needles sensory issues sometimes too...not much though. Mainly when I sit indian style to long etc. I have no numbness etc. and my twitching is down to less than 20 a day now (yeah I count)..isn't that SAD. When I take my klonapin I hardly twitch AT ALL....I've been taken magnesium, citracal d and Im also on repliva for iron..

I did scroll through here and i am seeing atrophy must correspond with weakness. I am sorry if this was a repetitive question. I try to limit myself with what I read because my psychiatrist and psychologist and my doctors have all threatened to come blow up my computer if I come back w/ anymore information..lol
However, I do go to the PALS and glamce over names and pray for each of you and people in diagnosed progress...Always..
