Oh my Barbie I too am shocked to read your post tonight. You have been so strong for so long I hope you feel the sense of peace and calm that you have earned many times over. I'm so sorry Barbie. You have been an inspiration to this CALS.

What a SHOCK! I suspected that his time was near, but to have it happen in this way with your daughter at the hospital must have just about made your brain explode. I am glad that you daughter is OK, and it sounds like he was in a good frame of mind when he passed. You are in my prayers, and hope to hear from you again soon. You have been such a help to sooooooo many people and an example that this disease does not have to destroy a family, just make them live a different way. Again, a BIG hug.

I hope you can find some solace in how Lonny passed. He woke smiling and laughing, and then had a pleasant soak.

He would not have passed like this if he didn't know he was loved; that you loved him and cared for him. You did good.

I am not religious but I do believe that our time on earth is not the end, that we still have more to our journeys. I believe that you and Lonny will be together again, in time, when the next part of your journey comes.

Barbie, my old mate Barry died Sunday of ALS. Today was his funeral. Or should I say celebration of his life.
It was a real testament to the love his family had for him, glowing stories from grandchildren, friends, family...
What a wonderful way to finish an earthly journey.

I know the celebration of Lonny's life will be awesome, as the love and strong bond you share is so obvious through your posts.

As you prepare for the day, may you smile at all the happy memories you shared with Lonny and your kids.
