My left foot has been twitching, cramping and fasisculating like non-stop the latest two months. It feels like it s thinner than the right foot, and I can feel the bones in it when I put it down. I don't want to scare anyone but waiting for the diagnosis is just painful. It starts shaking instantly when I put some weight on it. I'm so sad I love to dance, and do sports. This is killing me.

On the top of this I went to see my dentist, he had a look at my tongue, lips and jaw and he said I was an emotional person... he spoke with a split tongue. Like he didn't want to be the bad messenger and asked me to come back after my MRI.

My ear nose and throat doctor sent me to do a swallow test. It's all taking such a long time, only about 200 people get the disease here in Sweden per year and it's not such a common thing with expertise here.

Well thanks for listening. I'm feeling horrible.

Still doesn't sound like ALS to me.

Nor I, I can say for sure that my feet are the same size that they were 5 years ago and I am lucky to "walk" more than 5 steps with a walker.

I've not been able to be online much in the recent past, and hence, have not been following your posts. So, my advice is mostly just based on this thread you've started here.

The muscles in the feet are very small. Perhaps you're finding your feet to be thinner because of some sort of connective tissue condition. (as in autoimmune).

In reference to your appointment with your dentist; try not to read something into what he did nor did not say.

The modified swallow test will give your doctors much information. It is a very useful tool. The SLP who is there with you for the test, will speak with you about the results after you're finished. So, even though the wait may have been long to have the test, at least you should not have to wait for the results. I actually was not certain from how you talked about the swallow test, if you've had it yet or not (?)

good luck to you.

Thanks for listening in guys.

Well I can feel a lot of muscles moving around in the foot, and especially on the right side of my left foot. It never stops completely lately my right foot has been starting to do the same thing but it is much less frequent, like a light version.

About the swallow test, I was not so clear. I will be having it quite soon I guess.

I've been helping my mom move some stuff today. My family is with me and that comforts me a lot.
