Hey guys, I'm new to the site, though not message boards in general. My girlfriend's father was diagnosed earlier this year, and it's been a swift and painful ride. I came here hoping to maybe get some suggestions as to how to provide consolation (created a thread in the general forum) as it goes from bad to worse.

Sounds like you are just what the Doctor would order, you are doing so much by coming here, listening, asking, and supporting, she will need a shoulder, her dad could probably use your muscle, can you help with anything around the house?, or help her dad with things that may need done, be an ear, learn, spread the word about als. You sound like an amazing boyfriend, and that alone is probably a gift to your girl's dad, she found someone like her dad, huh...?
