For anyone who is struggling to ingest enough calories - or getting more calories into their PALS diets, malted milk has 30 cal/tbsp. It is fairly calorie dense, & every little bit helps. I found that it tastes pretty darn good in coffee and have added that to my husbands diet. It can probably be added to many smoothie recipes & PEG recipes as well, with a bit of experimentation :)

That's a fantastic idea! I used to add malt (powdered) to milkshakes/smoothies when my son was young and in need of extra calories. I've never seen malted milk ready made in stores, but can get malt in syrup or powdered form in health food stores or home brewer suppliers. I can't believe I forgot about that as a supplement. Thank-you!

Carnation makes a powder form. I think I found it near the coffee flavorings and coffee mate in the grocery store. I also used to use it many years ago when I was a runner and very thin (hah - I don't need it any more!!).
