I am making a similar set up for someone at the local nursing home. I plan to use switch access when I can't trackball anymore. Switch typing isn't too bad, but which program are you using to move your mouse cursor? I demo’d a few, but none were very impressive.

I am using SwitchXS to move the mouse. It works great!
