So...what do y'all do to help your everyday living? One thing I do is have a pair of tongs in every room. It is hard for me to pick some things flat off the floor (such as mail or coins or pills..etc...). I mean sometimes I am stiffer than at other times and I can only get down so far before I feel my knees MAY give out, so I grab the nearest pair off tongs and voila! Of course the flat edge tongs are best.
I also have portable railings to get off of the bed and the toilet- MAJORLY helpful!
And I still swear by my 4-wheeled rolling walker that I use inside and out...it's like a pack-horse. I put laundry baskets, flower pots, food, things...WHATEVER on it and transport things from room to room(or outdoor place to place)!
