    A Memorial rant...

I’ve been sitting on this for a few days deciding if and where. I am a Viet Nam Veteran, serving with 1st Field Forces. My unit was direct direct support for the 5th Special Forces (Green Berets). Where ever they set up a remote operational base, along the Tri Border, we set up with them...

    Memorial Day...

Memorial Day is for those who died fighting in several wars for our Freedom and our Democracy. To me, it is day for the Families who lost the love one too. Something that should also be considered is those who passed after combat from war related wounds and trauma. They fought and they died...

    The girl of my dreams

Sibyl passed away at 12.20 am today. I hope to post a more appropriate memorial on the forum at a later date. She was truly the girl of my dreams. As I often told Sibyl, I loved her long before we met. I was lucky to have found her. Ernie

    Getting through the days

I was looking back over the posts I had made a year ago. It seems like yesterday but at the same time it feels like forever. Next month will be one year. I am doing better today than I was say about a month ago. Weird things with family and friends continue to happen in particular with Jon’s...

    A form of closure

It was my PALS funeral and burial yesterday. My sister-in-law and I worked together to plan the service. My PALS was half Jewish (I was raised Catholic) but he was agnostic. His sister and I worked out a compromise to make the memorial follow tradition without being overly religious. The...

    Root Canal

We just returned from our four-week long spring trip to Yellowstone. We stayed in the Madison campground (in our trailer) for 29 nights. It was a wonderful trip and I will write a trip report for it soon. One adventure we did not expect was the need for me to have an emergency root canal. I...

    Memorial Day

Warmest wishes, Vets, on this Memorial Day. My thoughts today are for our group and specially for our fellow comrades in arms, and families, who made the ultimate sacrifice. May they forever be in our memories.
