    wheelchairs and insurance question

How often will insurance pay for a wheelchair- is it one per every certain amount of years? And how hard is it to get approved? I can still walk but fatigue utterly after short distances. I'm worried if we request a wheelchair eval insurance will decide that my ambulation is not impaired...

Update on my visit to my sister and a new question

I posted over a month ago and got very helpful advice. I wanted to thank all who replied once again. I spent a wonderful week with my sister. I have to admit there were tears but there was also a lot of laughter. My sister's spirits lifted and we went out for a walk every day to her favorite...

    A Long, Slow Downhill Roll...

My husband called me up today at work and said that he was not going to be able to let our housekeeper in because no matter how he tried he would not turn the doorknob. He DID end up getting the door open. A Life Alert is coming our way, and that will have a key box on the front of the door and...

Van features that you have found helpful?

Finaly Purchased a Vehicle for PWC

I found an X-Wav converted Honda Element on Craigs List that after considerable negotiations, and a complete garage inspection (for rust at the conversion spots) I purchased. It is a tight fit but does work and will be really good for my wife to use as a work vehicle (she sells surveying...

    Lift Recommendations

I am fed up with my manual lift. I am looking for recommendations for a power/electric lift. I'd like one that is portable, so we can take it with us if we travel. I know insurance will not pay for a power lift, but I'm at the end of my rope with the manual one I have. My husband is tall...
